Kitwe’s QS Team are professionals who have been trained as construction cost consultants. We have expert knowledge of costs, values, finance, contractual arrangements and legal matters in the construction field.

The following are the principal services our QS team offers across Shropshire, North Wales and beyond:

Cost Management & Cost Planning

With a team of experienced Quantity Surveyors Kitwe can offer clients or architects a full cost management and cost planning (cost consultant) service, either pre contract of post contract across Shropshire and North Wales.

Our team is steeped with cost management and cost planning experience both as professional quantity surveyors providing a service direct to clients, and as a contractors Quantity Surveyor managing the costs for construction companies.

There is no substitute for experience and we have a wealth of it when it comes to managing costs.

As a client or contractor you need costs certainty.  You may be relying on external funding to run your developments and costs overruns could be disastrous.  At Kitwe we manage your costs to ensure you get ‘value for money’ and that you do not exceed your budgets (unless you make changes or cause delays yourself).

For the builder we can control your costs for you and avoid waste over ordering or paying over the odds for your subcontracts.

Our costs planning service at pre contract stage comes from many years experience of working in integrated teams with Architects/ Engineers/M&E Consultants/CDM Coordinators and most importantly with clients to ensure they get ‘value for money’ and the costs relating to the design do not run over initial budgets.

Everyone has a budget to work to and not all members of the design team recognise the cost implications of their design proposals. Kitwe’s experience ensures the clients’ budgets do not get exceeded at design stage unless they are fully aware of it.

Value Management

The objective of value management is to deliver the project functions to the required quality for the best value for the money expended. This does not necessarily mean at the lowest initial cost, but the highest value considering all factors impacting upon the project as a whole.

Kitwe is well qualified to lead value management studies on a project. The structured nature of value management permits the project team to obtain a clearer understanding of the project functions and objectives hence being able to reduce unnecessary costs. Value management also addresses the whole life implications of the building design both in terms of cost and the client’s business objectives.
